The University of California is the biggest landlord in the California. If you live on campus at a UC, then you are a tenant! Your landlord, the UC, has among the highest rents in the state. This needs to stop—the UC should be lowering rents, not raising them. We need to get organized and push housing costs down. Lowering rents at the UC will help the students that the UC is supposed to serve. Lowering UC rents will also effectively lower rents outside of the University, too. Since the UC is such a huge landlord, it’s rental costs effect average prices throughout the entire housing market. If the UC rents are lowered, your parents, friends, and community members will also get access to lower rents as well.
The UC Needs to lower rent now! Let’s get organized!
